2WEBIT CLOUD BACKUP — Mac companion — untested on macOS, preview release

REQUIREMENTS
macOS 14 Sonoma or later (Intel or Apple Silicon), Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, Python 3.11 or newer with pip and Tcl/Tk,
an Adobe account, internet, and enough disk space for exported files.
Python: https://www.python.org/downloads/macos/

START
Extract the entire ZIP to a writable folder. Run Start Backup.command.
Start Backup installs or updates nothing. For a new kit, run Setup Dependencies.command
and review its confirmation to install Playwright into a private .venv folder.
The setup does not install or upgrade system Python, pip, or your browser.
Keep the command window open to see progress. Press Ctrl+C to cancel setup.
If the app stops with an error, see startup.log beside the launcher.
No browser extension is needed. Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge must be installed.
Safari and Firefox are unsupported; other Chromium browsers are untested.

ONE WORKFLOW, TWO FOLDERS
1. Click Set dates & file types BEFORE scanning. Choose a date range and
multiple source file types, plus Express output formats if wanted.
Save criteria does not scan or download files.
2. Click Open Adobe / sign in. Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud, not Apple iCloud.
In the browser, open Your files, clear Adobe filters, and use list view.
3. Choose a regular-file destination and a separate Express export folder.
4. Click Scan & review folders/files. New scans start at Your files and
include all subfolders. Rescan Your files using chosen types replaces a partial old inventory.
The app reads the inventory, applies
your saved date/type criteria, and opens the review.
5. Choose cloud folders to include. In Matching files / skip items, use
Select all files or Clear all files, then check individual Include boxes.
Skipped rows stay visible and can be included again. Apply selection.
6. Optionally Test 5 in each phase and inspect the exported samples.
7. Start / Resume both phases downloads matching regular files, then
automatically opens Express and saves its exports to the second folder.
8. If Express requests sign-in, complete it in that browser window and resume.
Review the .adobe-backup reports in both destination folders afterward.

EXPRESS FORMATS
Select Adobe Express projects as a SOURCE type (or use Express projects only).
The PSD/PNG/PDF boxes below choose Express OUTPUT formats; checking them alone
does not select any Express source projects. Use a separate Express destination.
PSD is exported where Adobe offers it. PNG or PDF provides a visual backup.
MP4 and PPTX are exported when offered. Some effects or text may flatten.
Native Express projects, comments, history, and all editing features are not
preserved. Check multipage and motion exports. Not every project supports PSD.

RESUME AND ERRORS
Pause stops between files. Keep the app, backup browser, and computer awake during a batch.
Resume with the same destination, Adobe account, and profile. Keep .adobe-backup.
Do not rescan merely to resume. Retry failed files makes one explicit retry.
Existing files are kept; duplicate names receive a number. Errors are logged
and skipped. Shared layout/sign-in issues can pause the batch instead.
Use a separate backup directory for each account. This is a fixed inventory
backup, not continuous synchronization or a cloud version-history archive.

SCOPE AND PRIVACY
Automates Adobe's visible Download interface. No credentials or files go to
2webit.com. Sign-in uses a temporary Chrome or Edge session. Downloaded files, metadata,
and manifests stay on your computer. Cloud originals are kept.
Libraries, Lightroom, Shared with you, deleted files, history, and unsupported
XD exports are outside this workflow. Adobe website changes may break it.
The program does not guarantee every Adobe cloud service or file can be exported.

This is an independent utility, not affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe.
Source code is included for inspection. This preview is provided as-is.

SELECTIVE BACKUPS (0.4)
Set dates & file types opens the pre-scan criteria form. Scan & review
folders/files discovers the folder and item inventory afterward.
Date buttons: last 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or Everything.
The date is Adobe's modified date, not creation time. Rounded relative dates
may straddle the cutoff. Unknown/boundary dates are included by default;
uncheck that option to omit them. The review shows the uncertain count.
Select multiple source types and select Express projects independently.
PSD/AI source filters select native cloud documents or matching uploads;
they do not convert arbitrary regular files to those formats.
Express has separate PSD, PNG, PDF, MP4 and PowerPoint output checkboxes.
Only requested formats are exported. Missing offered formats are recorded
in Express's .adobe-backup/missing-formats.csv.
Folder selection applies to files directly in each listed folder; subfolders
are separate choices. The preview supports selecting several items to skip.
Apply selection saves matching counts and freezes the range for resume.
The source inventory is kept. Each selection has its own queue under
.adobe-backup/selections; changed filters may create additional copies.
Refresh inventory makes a new scan; do not refresh merely to resume.

CRITERIA FIRST (0.5)
No inventory scan is permitted until date/type criteria have been saved.
Setting criteria does not scan or download anything. The scan must read
metadata to discover folders/items; only matching selected files download.
Newly discovered folders and matching files default to included. You can
clear all files and include a few, select all again, or skip selected rows.
Changing criteria invalidates the previous download selection; review it
again before starting. Resume restores the saved criteria and selected files.

SCAN RECOVERY (0.5.2)
Folders open by stable Adobe ID, not saved row positions. An unavailable
folder is recorded in .adobe-backup/scan-failures.csv, and other folders
continue. The review warns PARTIAL INVENTORY when a folder was skipped.
New scan checkpoints retain the completed and pending folder lists.
After an interruption, Scan & review resumes the pending folders.
An older checkpoint without that list is archived for preservation and
requires one new metadata scan. Refresh inventory deliberately starts over.

INVENTORY REPORTS
After scanning, a complete file list (inventory.csv), folder counts (folders.csv),
and a printable browser summary (summary.html) are saved in your regular-file
backup folder under Inventory Reports/<scan ID>/. Open scan summary and
Open inventory CSV buttons appear in the app. Open the CSV in Excel.
The CSV lists every inventoried file, including files excluded by your choices.
Applying a selection updates the match/exclusion columns without downloading.
Failed and unfinished folders are clearly marked in the summary. An interrupted
scan can save a partial report; look in Inventory Reports even if scanning paused.
The summary can be printed to PDF. These local reports are not uploaded.
Older saved inventories without scope metadata are labelled as such.
Express-only source choices select Adobe Express in the website dropdown
and scan that category in each folder. Other choices scan All types and apply
local filters. Reports label category-only scope. Switching scan scope forces
a fresh inventory; Express-only inventories are never used as full inventories.

MAC SETUP
Install Python 3.11+ using the Python.org macOS universal2 installer.
Extract the ZIP into a writable folder, then double-click Start Backup.command.
Optional Setup Dependencies.command requests confirmation, creates .venv,
and installs Playwright from PyPI. Chrome or Edge must already be installed.
If Finder did not preserve the launch permission, open Terminal, type bash
followed by a space, drag Start Backup.command into Terminal, and press Return.
Older macOS versions are rejected with an explanation before setup.
This is Python source with a Mac launcher, not a signed standalone .app.
Prepared and checked on Windows; no live macOS or Adobe account validation yet.
